Spring Cleaning- Your Master Cleaning Checklist!

Spring is right around the corner!

If you’re dreading cleaning up after a busy winter, we have the best spring cleaning tips to help get your home in order. After you’ve secured the obvious essentials-cleaning supplies, organizers, baskets, totes…whatever you deem necessary-it’s time to tackle which areas of your home need attention. We have put together a simple list for you! Here are some things to help you through this list.

First and foremost, be realistic with your planning. Rome wasn’t built in a day and your piles of clutter won’t disappear in one either. Start with your top three priorities, the spots that trouble you the most…we all have that junk drawer that hardly closes and the pile of coats and shoes from these cold wet months that haven’t returned to the closet. Tackling one task at a time will keep you motivated to complete what you’re working on.

Secondly, focus on one room at a time. If you start in one room and carry the stuff to the next room then get side-tracked you’ll just end up frustrated and back where you started. Your best bet? Start top to bottom! Starting on the top floor and working your way down, as well as for each room…start cleaning the cobwebs at the ceiling, wipe down the walls, then tackle the clutter. Have a starting point in your room and work your way around like a circle.

Lastly, in high-traffic areas of your house keep things out of sight, yet accessible. For example…your entryway is the first and last spot you and your guests see when at your home. Keeping it tidy and adding some accessories will not only be appealing to your guests but make you feel good when you welcome them in.
